We highly recommend you try the Non veg Platter. It had portions of their Tangri Kabab that has chicken drumsticks stuffed with minced chicken, Chicken Peshawari Tikka, Tandoori Prawns and the Tandoori Amritsari Kingfish that tastes brilliant with a little squeeze of lime on top. They also serve some mint chutney, imly chutney and pickled onions on the side.
When at Chawlas you definitely cannot miss out on the most popular item on their menu the Cream Chicken. The chicken is boiled in milk and cooked in a creamy gravy. The spice recipe comes all the way from Ludhiana and is actually a family secret. Try the original version or the tomato one like we did and you will no doubt love them both.
It’s got loads of creamy goodness that not only adds more flavour to the dish but also some inches to your tummy…you’ve been warned! 🙂 But frankly, when food tastes that good, we simply don’t care!
Not only do they serve some amazing chicken, but they do have some brilliant vegetarian preparations as well. The Paneer Tikka Masala is filled with chunky pieces of paneer tossed in a spiced thick gravy that is just perfect to dip in your lachha parantha or naan into.
The Mutton Rara is meaty and delicious. The mutton is tender and the gravy that comes with it is simply perfect cause it’s made up of minced mutton itself…yummy! We’re definitely heading back and ordering this when we have serious meat cravings.
Don’t miss the gulab jamuns at the end which were as delicious as they should be!
