We visited this chic restaurant on Jumeriah Road for lunch. Think beautiful gold chain curtains, elegant interiors and a quiet place to have a pleasant meal. They even have a live pianist playing melodious English and Bollywood numbers that’s perfect for a romantic meal. The restaurant is spacious with a modern and stylish seating option.
Whether you’re a fan of Indian food or Italian, the restaurant has some great grub on offer. Here’s a list of things we sampled from the menu.
Get Set Gobble
They start you off with a basket of fried papads and quintessential Indian sides like green chutney and mango pickle. To beat the heat we tried their refreshing Aam panna and molecular concoctions like the Spiced Pomme and Not So Cosmo.
The perfect way to begin your meal is to try their Vintage Kebab Classic Non Veg Platter. The best part about chosing this dish is that they actually let you choose which kebabs who want in the platter rather than having a set option. Full points for that! We tried the Tandoori Tiger Prawns that were marinated with Kashmiri chilli but weren’t too high on spice, Hide & Seek Chicken Tikka that has chicken baked inside a pastry dough so that it was hidden, Lamb Seekh Kebab and Mustard Flavoured Fish Tikka.
They boast of an impressive menu that is so big that they literally spoil you for choice. Their service is commendably fast. For mains we tried the Chicken Scallopini. The mushroom sauce with the mashed potatoes on the side just does the trick for this dish.
The Scampi Risotto is just too good to be skipped. This creamy concoction is loaded with Parmesan cheese. We loved eating this with a generous sprinkle of chilli flakes on top.
One dish that seemed like a miss for us was the Pink Sauce Penne Pasta that did not fare well in terms of flavour as compared to the other dishes.
Do try their La Calabrese Pizza topped with a generous helping of mozzarella and chicken sausages. Simply can’t resist the serious cheese pull happening here?! Come and put and end to your pizza cravings here.
From the Indian section we gave their Shahi Nehari a try that came highly recommended by our server. This dish is sure to entice your taste buds. We absolutely loved the authentic preparation complete with the garnish of fried onions and green chillies. The slow cooked lamb simply melts in your mouth. This dish for us was a win!
For desserts do try their Ras malai and Tiramisu that are great in flavour. The Gulab Jamuns were so heavenly, definitely give them a try. You will definitely not regret trying the Red Velvet Kulfi that was absolutely on point. We loved the contrast of the creamy kulfi against the crunch of the sprinkled flavoured topping.
