There’s an amazing news for all sushi lovers in Dubai. This What’s On 2016 award winning restaurant for Favourite Japanese Restaurant below Dhs 400 from Abu Dhabi just came to town and we couldn’t wait to go check it out!
If you crave Japanese flavours and preparations, then you will absolutely love this newbie in town. This joint located on the ground floor of Canal Views Hotel is offering a menu full of Teppanyaki, Maki, Sashimi, Yakitori and more! The eatery has fresh and vibrant vibes with greenery juxtaposed against wooden interiors. Here’s a look at what all we tried.
Get Set Gobble
Their have a diverse range of Japanese dishes on the menu that will give you a lot of options to choose from, so there are more than a few things for you to try even if you aren’t the biggest sushi fan or are a vegetarian.
Start off with their Matcha shake which has a good balance of flavour or their refreshing Cherry Ice Tea. When you are here you must try their Spicy Edamame that’s tossed in a sauce rather than just a sprinkle of spices on top. Apart from that, vegetarians can try the crispy Vegetable tempura served with a ginger sauce.
If you have been disappointed by sushi in the past yet decided to have another go at it, come give their California Tempura Style Uramaki a shot. I quite loved this crunchy prawn flavoured roll. And best of all, it’s a fried sushi so that’s a win for me! I also quite liked the Ortaggio which is a vegetarian sushi with grilled asparagus and eggplant.
Their Crab and Cucumber salad is sure to stimulate your taste buds. Apart from it being healthy, we loved the texture of the salad where the meat and vegetables were all thinly sliced into long slivers to be served with a ponzu mayo dressing. Yumm!
When dining here you will definitely want to try the Gyoza which are Japanese dumplings. We tried the steamed Shrimp & Garlic and pan fried Chicken that are served with a soy vinaigrette. One bite in made our heart sing and we went back for them again and again! 😀
If you are feeling a little indulgent, their Bento box will do the trick. I tried the Seafood Teppanyaki Hot Bento that came with a portion of seafood teppanyaki, egg fried rice, edamame, vegan salad and pickled radish served in wooden box. Not only did I love the presentation but that gravy teppanyaki was to die for! Try it, you will not be disappointed.
It was our first time trying the Vegetable Yaki Udon Stir fried which are thick wheat Japanese noodles tossed in a light sauce. The taste was quite interesting and somehow reminded us of eating pasta 😛
If you feel like experimenting, try the Sesame ice cream with Mochi and caramelized pecans. Their Blueberry cheesecake is good in flavour but our favourite were the Banana fritters with chocolate sauce. How can you not love that combination?!
P.S. Parking in the hotel is free! So head on over and let us know how your meal was 🙂
