Located on the Club Road in Punjabi Bagh, Chug it leaves nothing to imagination with its name – a drink concentrated pub with good food has got this place buzzing. They have a great selection of drinks and hookah and is very popular with the young crowd. I think the here DJ deserves a special mention as it so happened that there was a birthday party on during my visit and he was spinning some crazy tunes. Loved it! The pub also boasts as a great place to watch the matches so do give it a try then.
They do have valet parking available so that it certainly a load off the mind. It is located on the second floor; worry not, they have an elevator to get you upstairs. As you enter, the place has quite an artsy interior and I think the first thing that attracts your attention is their bar. Really well designed, it has a beautiful ceiling with wooden danglers of various sizes all around it. On either sides of the bar is a Instagram and Facebook wall which I found quite cool. You can add things to it if you wish. They have a small balcony with seating that gives you a view of the busy road. We sat inside at the weather was just not on our side that day. The place isn’t very big but the interiors have been designed to give it a spacious look.
Get Set Gobble:
~ Life at the bar – This is a drinker’s paradise. Go and chug it here! The highlander (whiskey based drink was good), Summer hoedown (beer cocktail with watermelon), Kiwi delight (super refreshing and very authentic in taste), Peach ice tea, Choco cold coffee (was thick) , Michelada (beer cockatil with a tequila kick) and Mexican bulldog (fun drink served with an upside down beer). They have a crazy drink menu and happy hours all day! I mean who does that?! Crazy good 🙂
~ Potato wedges – Super crispy and garnished with fresh herbs, its a great bar snack. MUST TRY
~ Dahi ke kebab – I liked the fact that these weren’t served traditionally fried. The curd was really soft and slightly on the sweeter side.
~ Bhatti ka paneer – I quite liked this paneer preparation as it was well marinated with a spice mix. DO TRY
~ Mozzarellla biscuit – To put it shortly, this was like a cheesey bread pakoda. With cheese stuffed between two slices of bread, covered in crumb and deep fried, it ticked all the boxes in my head. However the proportion of the cheese filling to bread can be worked on as it got a little dry. However it comes with an excellent dip. Do try that.
~ Mushroom galouti – I think I was in love with this dish. I simply love the sweetness that galouti kebabs bring to the palette. The minced mushroom kebab had a nice caramelized flavour to it that was enhanced by the slightly sweet ulta tawa ka parantha. It wasn’t surprising when the server informed that this was the star item on their menu. MUST ORDER
~ Peri peri chicken skewers – This was also a great quick bite and went great with our drinks. Do remmeber to dip these generously into the dips provided as they only help enhance the flavour more. DO TRY
~ Mayo Polo – This was a really delicious fish dish. The ried fingers were super crispy on the outside and soft and flaky on the inside. MUST ORDER
~ Bhatti ka murg – I loved this spicy chicken preparation. The pieces were well cooked and that tangy masala marinade did wonders for it. MUST ORDER
~ Peshawari chicken tikka – This was a soft creamy tikka preparation with low spices. DO TRY
~ Half and half pizza – We ordered the half and half Peri peri pizza & Med veg pizza. The base was thin and crispy. However I felt they can be more generous with their toppings.
~ Alfredo penne pasta – The penne pasta came dowsed in thick creamy white sauce.
~ Brownie with vanilla ice cream – Unfortunately they did not have a dessert menu up for us so we went for the usual brownie with vanilla ice cream. It came loaded with chocolate sauce.
Amazing boozy drinks. Awesome music. Drink friendly joint.
